Time to Unlock New Opportunities in the Cannabis Drinks Market
The first-ever Cannabis Drinks Expo will showcase unique national and international distribution opportunities for innovative cannabis drinks products
On July 25, San Francisco will host the first-ever Cannabis Drinks Expo, an event created in response to the tremendous buzz and excitement surrounding the legalization of recreational marijuana in North America. From California to Canada, both established beverage companies and innovative startups are looking for the first generation of successful cannabis drinks products. To make that possible, the Cannabis Drinks Expo will bring together professionals involved in the development, production, distribution and retailing of cannabis-related drinks in one central location.
If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to get started in the cannabis drinks expo, or how to transition from the wine or beer industry into the cannabis industry, the Cannabis Drinks Expo is shaping up to be the must-attend event of the year.
A central focus of this one-day event will be unlocking new national and international distribution opportunities. The tradeshow floor of the event will be home to exhibitors showcasing their newest products, as well as industry professionals with expertise in every facet of bringing a new product to market – from product development to packaging and logistics. The goal of bringing together all of these exhibitors in one central location – the South San Francisco Conference Center in downtown San Francisco – is to make it very easy and convenient to spot the right opportunities that align with a company’s current business priorities.
Headline speakers for the event include some of the biggest names in the fledgling cannabis industry, including Terence Donnelly, Chairman and CEO of Hill Street Beverage Company. Both bring enormous industry expertise and first-hand market knowledge. This represents a unique opportunity for anyone interested in bringing a new cannabis-related product to market to get the latest in strategic thinking. In addition, for those interested in creating canned or glass beverages infused with cannabis, Bill Silver, CEO of Cannacraft, will be giving an important presentation informed by his own first-hand experiences in the market: “Grass Into Glass: Tapping the Market for Cannabis Beverages.”
Given the amount of creativity and innovation in the cannabis industry, the Cannabis Drinks Expo will also include a number of high-profile speakers who can help to outline some of the more creative and experimental approaches to building out new products. For example, renowned mixologist Warren Bobrow will showcase some of the more interesting cannabis-infused cocktails that it is now possible to make. Kimberly Belle, a cannabis cuisine activist, will showcase some culinary creations that are now possible to make – as well as some innovative ideas for cannabis-food pairings, Jeremy Marshall, Brewmaster at California-based brewery Lagunitas, will explain how and why established beer companies are now rushing to get a toehold in the cannabis market. And Jamie Evans, founder of HerbSomm, will talk about some of the interesting opportunities at the intersection of the wine and cannabis industries.

Since a central focus of this event is bringing new products to market and lining up distribution for innovative product offerings, many of the speakers will also cover the specific details of how distribution works in the cannabis drinks market, and why it is often so different from traditional distribution channels in the beer, wine and spirits industries. Speakers include Rebecca Stamey-White, Partner at Hinman & Carmichael LLP; Michael Cooper, Managing Member of MadisonJay Solutions LLC; Omar Figueroa, author and cannabis law expert at the Law Offices of Omar Figueroa; and Stacy Hostetter, General Counsel at Cannacraft.
Throughout the day, participants will have access to important networking opportunities. Whether on the trade show floor or during breaks of the business conference component of the event, participants will have plenty of chances to meet new contacts, develop new relationships, and catch up with former colleagues. For anyone looking to unlock all of the new opportunities in the cannabis industry, the must-attend event of the summer will be the Cannabis Drinks Expo. The same products being showcased on July 25 will likely be the same products appearing at dispensaries in states like California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington State. To get a glimpse of the future, and to find out how products already available today can become a part of the future, it’s time to register for the Cannabis Drinks Expo in San Francisco.
